Van Alstyne’s excellent public library is one of the cornerstones of our community. Storytimes, science events, book clubs, movie nights, and many more free activities are available year-round for children and adults.
The library has free WiFi access, a computer lab and printers, and patrons may borrow e-books for free on their own e-reader devices. Your library card also gives you access to many databases and publications.
Volunteers are welcome! The library has a very active Friends of the Library group. The library’s benefits are too numerous to list, so please visit the Van Alstyne Public Library’s page. (link opens in new tab).
The CDC helps fund revitalization in Van Alstyne’s historic downtown. Grant programs and funding of festivals and tourism, including the farmers market, have increased both business and leisure activity in downtown, improving quality of life and and making small businesses stronger.
